Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

Some pointless Oasis tracks were number ones too. Just shows how people have soon forgotten them .Oasis are hardly going to be as memorable as the beatles in the future.

It's best in the final round to avoid an anorak subject like Rock LegenRAB, or indeed football. Better to go for a subject like geography if possible. I was also surprised by Catherine Howard being so much lower than Catherine Parr or Anne of Cleves.

Re: Spanish Costas in today's show- I am so glad I didn't get that when I was on.

I said 'Costa de la Luz' straight away and it didn't even come up as an option . However, It does seems to exist as a Costa on Wikipedia and when I was a travel agent...!!!
I would have ended up having an argument with them

Camino- I couldn't believe they nearly pulled it off. I was pleased for them eventhough it was a real shame they didn't manage a pointless

I've only just started watching this show for the first time this week.

First time i watched it i hated it but somehow over the next few days it grew on me. It's become for me curiously addictive.

But the one thing that i found annoying is why can't they reveal all the answer at the end of each round instead of revealing the most/least popular answers.

For example in the Elvis movies question, apart from the obvious ones, i thought of Roustabout and Girls, Girls, Girls but they never revealed what the score was for those two movies.

They could quite easily put a board up, or a moving banner across the bottom, with all 30+ films on with the respective scores.

Simarlarly, with the Johnny Depp question - i picked Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas and Ninth Gate but i never found out what those movies scored.

I think they should confirm what kind of people they asked...
I find that when you know a category reasonably well there is quite a lot of guesswork involved in picking the best answers

Judging by stuff like Michelle Obama being only the 3rd most named first lady and Take That's 'Patience' being only their 3rd most named single it seems they ask quite a lot of older people?

I know a lot of the times the better answers depend a bit on who was asked.

The numbers always surprise me - mostly just reminding me how few people like me have such a poor knowledge on films

Once is enough (or twice)..lol. Yeah just caught the episode on i player. Nice one. I got emile heskey.

Yeah that was exciting. Love watching pointless. Highlight of my day, sometimes tape it to watch later. Funny those two teachers. One of the answers wasnt a dickens character but a muppett! How appropriate. RicharRAB face was a picture.

Their show is on BBC2 (not channel4) every Sunday morning so why were he embarassinly corrected? (i guess the 'back' is wrong as Pointless is on BBC2 as well). But Alexander was definitely on it a few weeks ago...mind you his baby had just been born the day before so he had't been to bed and was a bit zombied - probably can't even remember it!!!

Ooh, I don't know whether to say or not, they told us not to! I'm on two weeks Thursday though.

I found out through the BBC Be On TV website. Quiz shows are kind of addictive- I'd love to go on EggheaRAB, though I'm under no illusion we'd win!

Just discovered this thread.
Loved Pointless last series.
Love the fact that you have to rely not only on your own knowledge or lack of it, but also on the knowledge of the 100 people. I always feel I have a chance with geography or films...........but pop music no chance:D

This series is definitely dumbed down. The head to head is basically if you go first you win:rolleyes:. WorRAB making up GCSE, please:o. If they keep this round they should at least have lists with a minimum of 10 answers.

AR you two were brilliant........clever and witty, sorry you didn't win.......best team from either series.............(although JFK was a bit numptyish):D:D:D..........but then noone can know everything.:p

Got to go Pointless is on:cool:

I'll go for strump:p
