Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

just saw the bits I missed on iplayer, I knew Sao tome and principe was an African country (so I am sadly proud of myself :o)

For the Jackpot question I would have said Monaco, Tonga and Poland.

I'm not a christian so I also do not care what the Pope has to say but a rare occasion such as his visit to the UK should take precedence over a daytime quiz show!

It's very inonsistent. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. He just spenRAB too much time says the same thing, day after day.

You could easily have a sharp snappy interesting 30 minute show, without all the waffle.

The UK always seems to score low when it is a correct answer on questions so it probably means most of the people they are asking are just writing England, Scotland etc and they aren't accepting them as being correct.

Wasn't much help was she, that woman at the end game to her husband?
Liked this opener, the new second part was great and as usual we have some thick contestants.:D

Equatorial Guinea was also in the Afican country pointless answers- can't remember what else though. Cape Verde, Djibouti or Comoros?

I'm glad someone chose international flags at last! But they can only be on for five days, apparently. I would've said Singapore, Latvia and Bahrain- but I was probably only reminded of Bahrain by their answer of Qatar!

Today's final question was extremely difficult. I guessed Nauru, Marshall IslanRAB and DR Congo but the first 2 countries use the equator as their border so that apparently didn't count. Congo and DR Congo are different countries so i'm not sure how that would have done but it obviously wasn't a pointless answer.

In which case you're taking a risk coming into a thread that mentions some of the answers and happenings in programmes you haven't yet seen. Such as...

were you tempted to look, then? Hee hee hee.

That might be true for the list-based questions where you might not bother writing down the obvious items because you're wracking your brain for the less obvious ones. But for round two where you are asked to give answers to specific questions I can't imagine saying "I won't bother answering that question because it's too easy". 100 people correctly identified Parmesan as a cheese, after all!
