Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

Hey that was a trick question. Name a strictly come dancing judge. I said straight away....Darcy Bussell, she will be the least known. Rewound the tape and the question was name a judge who had been on the panel for a whole series! Grrrrr...
 
I was annoyed that they had to name Dickens characters and "Here they are!" They could at least ask them to name the novels that the characters were in!:(
And ( I know that is poor English to start a sentence with and) who are the one hundred people they ask and why do they seem to be so thick? Is it the time limit of one hundred seconRAB that stumps them?:eek:
 
I guess the bloke who isn't Alexander Armstrong gets all his info from Wikipedia? He really should have listened to the pronunciation of Kiribati, I thought. :)

I'm wanting the international flags category to come up, too. I was wondering what sort of question they could ask. Perhaps name a flag that doesn't have any red, white or blue in it?
 
I came onto this thread on Wednesday after watching Pointless on iPlayer, only to remember I was a day behind*.:eek: Luckily I got out again before I gave too much away.

I haven't been able to come in here until now as I've only just caught up.




All 3 of the answers I would have given were pointless. Could have had all 4 pointlesses if I could have remembered the name of Mike Berry's character.

The ladies impressed me with the way they played the game on Friday but they were clearly too intellectual for Jackie Collins' novels. Should have opted for rock legenRAB instead.:p



*On Tuesdays I watch Wonders Of The Solar System at 7pm and Richard Hammond's Invisible World at 9pm. I know that leaves an hour free at 8pm, but, hey, you can't watch TV all the time. That's just silly.
 
He was indeed on Golden Balls, he was likable enough though, and at least his mother took a more educated guess at the England coaches, I thought of Harold Wilkinson, but couldn't remember his first name.



Aye me too, I'm thinking what you suggest, or flags with 3 colours in them or something.
 
Haven't read the rest of this thread yet but I will in a minute
anyway just have to say that I proper love this show,it's so fun to play along.
I actually want to apply for the next series (if there is one) and go on with a friend ,though we'd probably get knocked out in the first round both times.
 
On Last Friday's show "Saturday Night Fever" was disallowed because the correct title of the song in question is "Night Fever". However today, "Simply The Best" was allowed despite again not being the actual title of the song (apparently).

In neither case would the opposite ruling have made any difference to the final outcome, but it seems a bit inconsistent. So I'm wondering if anyone who's been on the show can tell us what guidance, if any, is given on how precise answers need to be in order to be accepted.
 
In the new format I think its the 2nd round where they are given a choice of 7 answers, at least one being wrong and one being pointless. I think the old format was that they just came up with an answer, rather than having the 7 choices.

I think the other 2 blokes were Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer from Something for the Weekend...they were talking about it on Sunday.
