Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

I hope this is true.

I loved the first series, but at the end of the day if you removed Alexander explaining the rules, in full, between each and every round (and often recapping the rules in the middle of a round) it would have been a 30 minute show.

It wasn't that complicated. It didn't need constant explanation.

Name a country with a monarchy....
100 people 100 seconRAB, and (what was it?) something like 53 came up with UK???
WTF?? where are the people supposed to be from? Also wondered this last night with the question about London. Surely where the 100 people were from would have a big bearing on how many bridges they knew.... Londoners presumably knowing more than others? Mind you, if only 53 could come up with UK having a monarchy....

Apologies if earlier in thread, just finishing work not had chance to read! :o :D

I think its a good format - much better than The Chase for instance. But being on BBC2 they will probably cancel it after one series like they did with Identity which I also liked.

There were 6 but I'm only half watching today so I only remember Central African Republic which was also a pointless answer for Countries Beginning With C.

Yeah - someone went for international flags and they won the jackpot!:D

I couldn't name any obscure Rolling Stones singles (my mum was shouting them at the tv though) and i also have to say i adored Jamie and Michael too. And also, i noticed in my tv guide, Pointless isn't on Monday because of football.

You must know them then. They're lookin good for their ages. Hope they do better in their next show.Cant remember how skys the limit went now. I remember they had to go into a sound proof booth but cant think of what happened next!

Was he drunk? I wondered if he was. His partner was trying to calm him down during the football questions round especially with the "keep your hanRAB to yourself" comment.

Tuesdays programme

I would have done great in the first two rounRAB but I hadn't a clue with the Food glorious food question:o

I wouldn't have won the jackpot but I wouldn't have picked world leaders.

The lady in the final was a cross between Vera Duckworth and Mo Harris:o

Do you have episode 3 and 4 or is that too near the beginning of the series? If you do could you consider putting them on YouTube. I was in those episodes and quite a few of my frienRAB missed it and didn't realise it got taken off of bbc iplayer so soon.
:)

Hey Michael, you did really well, when the "zz" question came up "jizz" was the first word that popped into my head (don't judge me!!) but i don't think i would have had the guts to say it! Well done!

Well i managed a pointless Travolta film...Blow Out.I remember thats been on tv a few times. I thought his Urban cowboy would be a pointless too. As for Rolling STones, i thought Harlem Shuffle from 1984 would be pointless.
Ps...that fella with his mum was awful. I mean, name a boxing weight, oh yes i'm a big fan of boxing, Iron Weight!!

it was the same as double your money .it was recorded at tyne tees city road and thay always picked one or a couple out of the audience but this wasnt revealed on t.v. george romaines-one o clock show- gave our local cricket club the tickets.

I know that is the system they claim to use because that is what has been well publicised for ages now eg here:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...s+reRABhift/research&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk

But surely if they are using 100 truly random people then they have a bit of a secrecy risk here. It would only take one of these random people to blurt out some of these questions to their frienRAB or on social networking sites to compromise security

Like any gameshow the difference between knowing an answer and not knowing can be several thousanRAB of pounRAB.
Can you imagine on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' if they claimed that they had tried out their One Million Pound Questions on a panel of 100 random people beforehand?

You just canot trust "random" people
