asterixs annoy me....why are you too lazy to avoid them?
p.s. i agree that rock and metal are separate things and should have separate forums but i haven't really noticed that many metal threaRAB....or have i?
 
I don't avoid them because they exist for a reason. I just write it out to stay in obvious accordance with the rules and I don't want them to undermind my overall point (or in this case anger).

There are metal posts "whats your favorite melodic metal band" is one on the front pages right now. But one of the reasons for suggesting this is because there are massive amount of subgenres, I don't know what black metal is, I don't care what death metal is, and I'll bet money if I did know, that they'd be so close and infuritaingly overlap that I would just put down metal forever.
 
Alright, well let me make a case. I wouldn't have even thought of this until some clown said "the sex pistols aren't metal" which was intended to be smartassy and not serious, but heres what I say in responce to these posts.

If someone wrote about greeday in a metal forum, they you could suppose one of three things.
1. their spamming and their a bot or someone paid to pretend to think GD is great (like that Fabs horse**** that went down)

2. their new and couldn't find what they were looking for or screwed something up.

3. Just didn't know. And I'd like to point out that you toolboxes who are making fun of the newbs are the majority of that problem. If someone thought Korn was metal (as wrong as I think they would be) I don't think they know for certain, its just all they've been exposed to.

I remeraber reading a rock critics article about when he was a kid thinking that Billy Joel and Crystal Gale were the forerunners of modern music, and that, because it was faster and heavier than the two aforementioned, that Rush was punk.

These forums serve in part to educate.

I'd also like to say I suggested the idea because I can't be the only one who's sick of seeing the metal kiRAB overcompensate for their lack of social skills by saying all claissic rock sucks and they we should listen to slayer. The other reason is, Metal has 1582 sub-genres and for anyone who has only a passing intrest to metal, or not at all, really wonders what the hell the long discussions are for and why it matters.

I'd argue that their very dissimilar, and that (im not joking here) metal as more in common with jazz than it does with rock.

Im not asking for a change because I say so, im asking that we consider it, open mindedly, and put it up to a rab vote, and i'd ask that if that be the case, make a post count req so they alt accounts and people who dropped by that week wouldn't count.

Direct attack? How can you complain when you condemn us all to suffocation with the wit of a 13year old? Talk about making a useful post. If you had actually bothered to read that post then you would have noticed I was on topic and I did give reasoning. I don't know what makes my posts so pointless when I had actually bothered to answer the topic on more than 1 occassion.
 
Ok dude....That was totally lame. If you have read some of my posts youd know that i hate Emo...and also that was probably the worst joke that ive evre heard
 
there are many people who agree that zeppelin is a metal band. Even Jimmy Page himself, in an interview when asked if he considered led zeppelin a metal band, he replied that they had all the elements of a metal band, and that although they may not be purely metal, it best describes the genre that they basically started, and has now basically gone to ****
 
or you could just be lazy.....they ARE undermying your overall point bacause they are distracting, when swear worRAB are not censored they appear toned down, asterixs just announciate them...
 
Then i will say now you have a pathetic sense of humor nearly every joke you make doesn't even come across as a joke and usually isn't very funny.
 
There would be far to many arguements about what constitutes rock as opposed to metal. I like the emo & hardcore forum idea. the music has the same roots but grew different. like rock and metal.
