Poetry question.....?

It is a SIMILE...

There is an EASY way to differentiate between simile n metaphor -

If comparison is done with the help of words ' LIKE and AS ' then it is a simile..
eg : I am quiet
like wings on the wind

comparison without using words ' like and as ' is metaphor.

That is a similie, as the writer is comparing themself to the subject. If it were a metaphor, the writer would say that they ARE the subject: it would be like "I am quiet, I am/ the wings on the wind"

I hope that helps :)
