What's New?
Pocket Tunes now integrates with Windows Media Player on Windows PCs. You can copy and organize your music from your PC without using slow HotSync or inconvenient card readers. Just start Windows Media Player on your PC and click "Copy to Device".

Only available in the deluxe version, you can now play WMA (Windows Media Audio) music files. Windows Media Player uses WMA music files by default when copying CDs to your computer, so many people will find this to be very convenient. In addition, with WMA files, you can fit more music on your handheld due to the smaller file size. (Please note that some WMA music purchased on the Internet may not be playable with version 3.0, but we are working on supporting this in the near future.)

On the Palm, you can now organize your music by artist, album, and/or genre. Quickly pick the music that you want to hear without worrying about file names, directories, or any of those other details.

Pocket Tunes now features an enhanced plugin architecture, and the Ogg Vorbis and WAV support have been moved into their own plugins. Be sure to install these plugins if you want to play Ogg Vorbis or WAV files, or save space by leaving them out.

Sony CLIE users will be happy to learn about the enhanced CLIE support. Pocket Tunes now supports the jog dial for pausing playback as well as the left and right buttons on the TH55 for switching tracks. In addition, Pocket Tunes now directly supports the NX80's remote. (To use Pocket Tunes on the NX, NZ, or TG series, you will need to install 3rd-party software, which is available at http://www.aibohack.com/clie/modclieaud.htm )

enjoy!

As a "long time" satisfied user of Pocket Tunes, with a current registered version showing 2.3.2 Deluxe, a web page that says to upgrade from 2.x Deluxe to 3.x Deluxe is 14.95 (a high price, in my mind, to pay for an upgrade), when I enter my registration code I'm told I need to add an additonal $5.00 to this price (for what reason, I don't know), and so my "upgrade" becomes even more expensive, $19.95. Sounds like Agendus all over again.

As for the high price, to purchase new, the cost is 27.95, and a $14.95 price is 50%, a $19.95 price is more than 65% and this is for an upgrade. Having been involved with IT for more than 15 years, I think somebody is trying to make a little more income for what I see as minor in the way of enhancements.

This is only "my opinion".

Yeah must agree there $19.95 is a bit much for just a upgrade I do not think I am going to buy that version somewhat to expensive....

I luv pocket tunes but not enough to upgrade for that price! Thats outragious. It should be free for those who bought it. Agendus fiasco all over again!

hello

at the beginning, i bought po-tunes with pleasure and was happy with it .... but now,
being a mac-user, i do not even see an improvement that deserves any $ (even if here we pay in euros)

i will not pay for it until a real thing comes out !

all the best
in your quest

The upgrade price is insane...I hope they reconsider the upgrade fee.

As a registered owner of 2.x they are not getting the high asking price from me for the upgrade to 3.0.

:(

I love the new improvements with the new version so it can sync music from your desktop in MP3. and WMP. formats the price is a bit steep at $27.95 for new user and $19.95 for upgrade I bought it and it is one of the best programs that I ever hade mabe even the best on my handheld computer.
I would encoruge everyone to buy it worth the cash !

Because of the high price being asked for the "upgrade", I would seriously reconsider getting MMPlayer instead of Pocket Tunes. At least MMPlayer has free upgrades and you can get video and audio playback. MMPlayer is being sold at PalmGear for $14.99 and this is for new users!

Pocket Tunes should be sold for a lower price than MMPlayer since it does not offer all the bells & whistles such as the ability to play video. Normsoft has made a bad marketing decision on this release. The high price is going to make them lose the competitive edge on the competing products.

Pocket Tunes may be worth the high price to the kids. But for the adults with families to support, this purchase is out of the question, especially at this price.

minzawaung is right by saying Pocket Tunes 3 is OUT.

Yeah that is true most kids sometimes has more money then adult's becasue they got mouth's to feed ( I never thought I would ever say that?) toys to buy and a home to keep over there head's. It's a big bill to live in USA to day a fairly big bill.

It's you who is displaying ignorance. I think the point is that adults, especially those with families, have finanicial responsibiities that don't always allow for luxuries or frivolous expense. Kids, on the other hand, aren't saddled by those obligations.

I'm glad you're posting again. If nothing else (and there is nothing else), you've increased the entertainment value of this board.

Lets stay on-topic shall we.

I agree the prices seem steep, but one major factor in this is the licensing of WMA. A short while ago it cost many thousands of dollars to be able to add WMA support to your software. Although it is now licensed on a much fairer cost-per-machine basis, I don't know whether Pocket-Tunes brought into it before the price changes were made. If they did, they would have a huge amount of money to make up and I could understand the high prices.
Having been involved in beta testing, I am aware also of the huge amount of work they put in too. Getting the Windows Media Player integrations working smoothly was no small task!

I agree with you guys, the upgrade price is steep. However, the main thing you're getting with the upgrade is WMA support, if you don't use WMA's, you don't really need the upgrade IMHO.
My only use for WMA's really, is to play DRM'd files (Digital Rights Management- used in online music purchases), and Pocket-Tunes does not yet support them.

weird and interesting.... you can get p-tunes for...10.95 usd on palmgear site..... it is said to have been released on june 18....

someone understands ?
