Mike I am glad your doctors appt and blood work showed ok.

I am pondering about your night sweats. Has your doctor
ever checked your glucose at your doctors appt? Diabetis?

I am sorry you are feeling poorly. I would like to follow your
thread and see how things unfold.

M1ke78-

I'm so sorry they pushed back your appointment. Do as much positive for yourself as you can in the meantime. Do your best to eat right, avoid caffeine and alcohol, sleep adequately. If you are religious, pray. If you aren't, try meditation or hypnosis. In other words, take care of you. I hope that your appointment results in an answer for you. Nothing is more frustrating than not knowing what's wrong.

Please post and let us know what they say after your appointment, and keep on posting if you just need some support in the meantime. We're all here for you.

Hi, Janly
thanks for your help everyone.
Not feeling good right now. Something is wrong in the head...
I cant go on like this much longer. It feels like I have lost all will. I have hit a wall. Like I have no were to go, dont know were or how to get help.
I live alone and Iam having a hard time dealing with all this, Iam having a life crisses and no one understands me. Including my family because they dont like to see me like this.
My glucose level was ok last time my GP check it, he only checked once.
And I have never been on any meds at all.
I rarely drank before now and now maybe a beer once in awhile.
and have never done drugs.

I have noticed more syptoms:
- cold or weird feeling left part of face
- testicular warping
- red or veiny eyes
- and stange head symptoms
- metalic taste in mouth or on the tongue.
anyone have any clues

I have one question that I have been meaning to ask,

- if eveyone I talk to about this seem to think this is anxiety, can anxiety be a symptom itself? And if so why does anxiety occur?
Is it possible that something physical be causing all these symptoms? even if I do not feel pain anywhere, or have a fever, or feel sick at all.
and my blood work is ok.
I do feel weak though but not tierd.
I feel poisoned.
Could this brain damage?
Is this the end for me?
pls help me if you can, asking questions could help me find the right path if its not to late, thanks in advance.

Sorbitol and Manitol are some of the "sugar-free" sweeteners used in gums, toothpastes, etc.

If you chew a lot of sugar-free gum, it could upset your stomach, and give you diarrhea.

If you're pretty certain that it's not anxiety, I'd get a second opinion from another doctor. Just stick to the symptoms and don't give them ideas. If you tell them, "My last doctor thought it was anxiety" then it's highly likely that's what the next doc will lean on, also. Make a list of all your symptoms, when they started, etc. and take it to a doctor and let them tell you what they think it is. See if it's a different answer.

If both docs agree independently that it's anxiety, at least try the anxiety treatment they prescribe and see if it helps.

Mike-

Anxiety can be a symptom of an illness (or a side effect of medicine) AND anxiety can be the cause of lots of other symptoms. That's why your case is so hard for me to figure out. You have listed a ton of symptoms but never once have you stated anything that would indicate a cause for anxiety.

Are you on ANY prescription medicine at all?
Do you use any supplements?
Do you buy any supplements/RX's off the internet?
Did anything in your life change before the onset of your symptoms? Have you moved? Could your house have toxins in the water or air?
Did you recently acquire a pet?
Do you have any issues that might cause anxiety? Have you recently had a break up, has anyone died, have you changed jobs?

Think of ANYTHING that changed before the onset of your symptoms.

Bottom line, yes, this could indeed be a physical problem. Is it the end? Probably not. You're not in the hospital, I assume you are still ambulatory, so you're probably not terminal. But you do need to figure it out, whether it's physical or psychological.

i hate to say it becasue when people said to me you have anxiety it was like it really annoid me but that does really sound like anxiety, chew gum helps take your mind of things,

I live in Canada its realy hard to see a another GP, unless you go to the clinic were they just want to rid of you as fast as possible. All my GP told me to try were omega3 supliments for the time being call Isodis witch are really expensive 30$ for 60 tablets. Iam allso on Tuzen probiotics for the digestif probleme not sure if they are working. Wish I new what to do! I never chew gum so I dont see that being a probleme. thanks again
any info is helpfull

That depends on a couple of things. Obviously, some doctors are better than others. A diagnostician or internal medicine specialist often have more advanced training that make them better at pinpointing a problem, but I've seen GP's that were pretty darn good also. Naturopathic doctors, also, can be very good at diagnosing illness.

The other depends a lot on whether you have told them everything. Sometimes something that seems inconsequential to you might be a big deal to them. For example, you said "metallic taste" in mouth. Well, a diagnostician could have a field day with that symptom alone, as it's symptomatic of a lot of illnesses.

Personally based on the initial post I'm not certain why someone would definitively say it's anxiety. Nothing in that post indicates that the symptoms are stress related.

So my question is- could they be? Certainly if you have had something major happen- a job loss, divorce, death in the family...those things could cause major anxiety. Even just a constant worry- perhaps of being layed off from work. And anxiety often does present with very serious physical symptoms. It's your body's way of crying out for help.

But if these symptoms just started and it's the symptoms themselves that are making the last two months so difficult, then it's possible you have another type of illness. For example, I knew a man with muscular dystrophy that had some of those symptoms. I'm not even suggesting it is muscular dystrophy, I'm just surprised how many people just said "anxiety" and didn't consider that it may be a physical problem as opposed to a psychological one. Have you been to the doctor? If so, what did they say? What tests did they run? Did anything come back abnormal?

Ok, went to the doc this weak, all blood work came back clean, yet I dont feel beter. I fear the worst :(Having weird head symptoms as well. dark cloudy thoughs etc..
Still feeling shake yet not as prominate as before, sleep is a little better yet I get 5 maybe 6 hours of sleep a nite. sometimes wake in sweats. My appetite is zero.
Why do I feel so hopeless? Sometimes Im so in my thoughs.
I feel powerless, like i have no control over nothing. dont know how or where to get help.
can anybody reassure me?
should I trust my doc, he seems to think anxiety.
does anyone have experience dealing with realated items?
pls help!

Anxiety can create a host of problems. Have you checked out GAD? (Generalized Anxiety Disorder)

Google symptoms of GAD in adults...I think you will be very surprised at what anxiety does to a person.

Good Luck

Mike-

Is your doctor treating the anxiety? Has he given you a script for an anti-anxiety med to try? You could go with that for a while, see if your symptoms abate. If they do, then you know it's anxiety. If not, then have them keep looking for another cause.

If he's not treating the anxiety even after that was his diagnosis, find another doc. We don't just have to "tough it out" when we have anxiety.

Omega 3 supplements can help mild depression, if taken regularly, and can also reduce inflammation of the bowel and joint inflammation. I've never heard of a correlation between Omega 3 and anxiety, though. Prebiotics, again, are for digestion. So it sounds more like he's treating you for a digestive or bowel disorder. Are you sure he suggested it was anxiety? Because if he thinks it's anxiety he ought to have either prescribed a fast-acting anti-anxiety or a longer acting one, depending on whether he thinks you are having acute anxiety (panic) or GAD.

Again, I'm not saying you have anxiety. Your symptoms may well be only physical, I'm just trying to figure out what your doc is doing.

Hi everyone
I have a scheduled app. with my family GP on Tuesday of this week. I will get initial results for blood work, urine and stool analysis.
I will make sure to let the board know the results.
I live in Canada, the health system is slow compared to the US.
Hopefully this is not the outcome of health reform in the US.
I will post again by the end of the week.
Ty in advance for your support
I will need it :)
Looking for answers
Mike.

Gosh how wearing your symptoms have to be!

Have you had any recent blood work ups done? Extensive blood
work specifically? I got the impression that you were seeking
suggestions but may have not had anything checked out yet or
followed up with a good doctor?

Do you have a fever?

How long are your bouts of insomnia?
How long therefore do you go without sleep?
