Pleco fish got out of tank for eight hours, seems ok...but.?

ok, so i wake one morning, and im like wtf!!! hes two feet long, and i only have afew inch opening back where the filter goes in...any my mind is blown, cuz hes 10 feet from the tank. nothing is wet, i go to pick him up, and hes all dried and schlacked (sp) lookin..ugh. so i pick him up and he wiggles a bit, i put him back in and he goes crazy gaspin for air.... so im watchin him and i get my tiger fish outa there, cuz hes nippin at his poor fins, so now, hes fins looked frazzled and two of them are bleeding......should i put him in a tank alone for a whilE? hes in with three other large fantail goldfish, its a 20 gallon tank. oh an i put a small pleco in there too bout amonth ago, hes bout an inch long....im obviously an amatuer...please help im worred about him, ive had him for 5 years.. he acts ok, but hes bleeding..that cant be good. any help would be AWESOMELY appreciated. thanks :)
do you think my other fish would be ok in a smaller tank. 3 big fantail, and one baby, and a small pleco.....just until i get a bigger one ? should i leave the biggie in the 20gal...the small one in only 15. i have to go to work, and i dont know what to do ughghggh
 
Put him in another tank, but make sure its big enough, and also, fill the new tank with at least half of the water from the old one, if hes poorly, you don't want to be putting him into water that's not matured and that he's not used to.
Also, put some Stress Coat/Stress Zyme formula in there, from any petshop.
