2) there is a lot to understand about the idea of expanding universe and recession of galaxies
Imagine you are on a huge parking lot and could see a lot of cars in the distance moving around. You have a radar gun (big telescope) you notice they all seem to be driving away from you and also the farther away they are, the faster they seem to be going. How can that be? do they know you are cop? do you have really bad breath?

the best explanation is that the parking lot is made of rubber, not concrete and the rubber is stretching everyplace. ALL the cars think they are in the center and EVERYBODY ELSE , including you, is moving away from them.

Yes it is a weird idea! but there is a great deal of observation for it and Einstein's (very difficult) math predicts that would happen

Tau Ceti? Not the faintest idea, I have never been there

Help a girl out pleasee, ive been doin homework for 4 hours and i cant answer these two, my mind has shut off. Dont leave no crap, i just need some help in my time of need =P
 
Tau Ceti has a great deal of debris in it's system. The sun is dimmer than ours and appears to have little metal compare to ours. If a planet does exist there it would look like the moon with many impact craters. There's reason to believe that the star may have a brown dwarf as a companion.
