Im so stuck because I dont need velocities in this question.
A ballistic pendulum experiment is performed as shown in the diagrams
below. The ball has a mass of 0.200 kg and the wooden block has a mass
of 1.000 kg. Use the data in the diagrams to do appropriate calculations to
determine if the collision is elastic or inelastic. (hint: It should be possible to
draw a conclusion without calculating any velocities.)
PART 1: the ball travels a height of 2.50cm and hits the block and the block is still in place.
PART 2: the travels a height of 1.50 cm and hits the block which moves back 0.10 cm.
