regarding it? I have a 6th grader who is in special ed and has an IEP. We have moved a couple times throughout her school experience over the 7 years and I know how special ed works and IP updates and such. This year she is in a new school since she is now in junior high. I recently received her progress report and there was no grade for spelling. I asked her why and she said her regular not specal ed teacher said the spelling words are too hard for her so she doesn't have to do them. This makes me mad because they are limiting her ability to move forward. Last year she was only a year behind which was great because she made incredible progress and this year I don't know because I have asked for my annual IEP meeting with no answer back. What are the laws regarding this? I called for 3 weeks straight just to get the progress report because the teacher never sent it and then when she finally did she won't respond to the outcome of it. She also gave her an F for social studies which they do when she is in special ed and she wasn't doing the work because she isn't there. The principal says this needs to be discussed with the teacher who won't return calls. I am going there tomorrow and I want to make sure I know my rights before I do. Thanks for any help.
She was diagnosed with learning disabilities in math and reading if that matters.
