no, there are no real docs here to answer questions, only what the above poster mentioned?
your daughter could very well be pretty dehydrated at this point or actually have some sort of real anatomical type of problem with ureters or bladder here too? but from what you described so far? i would most DEFINITELY get her to see the ped doc asap or even to an ER? she just NEEDS more rapid hydration more than anything right now just to start. it does NOT take a whole lot to dehydrate a child that age, trust me. i would actually just go ahead and take her right to the ER only becasue they not only will immediately start an IV to get her rehydrated, but they will ALSO want to find out the real underlying reason for this to even be occuring? she very well, given the onset of a temp now and real pain, could actually have like a kidney, bladder or plain old UTI type of infection going on that just would also impact how she is peeing too in many cases? and the fact that she just really IS now having ANY pain here too just really UPS that real NEED to get her whole little body and situation fully evaluated with other tests being run too that would show pretty quickly if this is in any way related to an infection that just NEEDS some anti Bs or if there is something deeper going on within her. but i would take her into the ER today, seriously. you just NEED to get those fluids in her much more rapidly there than you could possibly even do at home right now.
one really quick way to even tell if someone IS dehydrated, tho this tends to work better in adults with less fatty tissue on the top of the hand? just take one of her hands, then take your finger and thumb and just grab an area of the skin between them(just enough skin to be able to kind of "tent" it upwards and pinch it together? it does need a good pinch and hold for about two seconds but should not be painfully so? then let go of that fold of skin and just see if it kind of stays in that posistion for even a second or simply rebounds back down really quickly/normally? if that stays in that "tented' posistion at all, she IS very definitely dehydrated. if she is crying with NO tears or really appears to be really sleepy or lethargic, get her to that ER now if all the above is espescially positive.
this most definitely IS one of those better safe than sorry types of situations. the more dehydrated she becomes, the much more unstable her system functions(even her heart) that truely depend upon water/electrolyte balances will aslo become as well. just get her seen today hon. really. hopefully she is okay, but like i mantioned above, she is already more than likely much more dehydrated than you may even realize. please DO let us know how she is doing, K? just get her evaled and rehydrated as soon as possible. i would NOT allow this to go on here much longer. just hoping everything is okay, but you just NEED to know what started this soon as well so it can be treated properly.
