HI,

I am 23 from Winnipeg Canada, My symptoms started in May of this year. Started getting headaches daily, tension across forhead, pressure in head and in nose, also the right side of my face gets swollen and I have bad tension in my neck and sometimes headaches in the back of my head.

I had a CT scan done of my head and nothing came back. since then I have been to the chiro, physio and nothing has helped, now they are saying i have tmj.

I have also been treated with nasonex and antibiotics for sinus infection but nothing helped.
I now get bloody bugars in the morning tingling on the bridge of nose pressure in nose is still there. and facial tension is there aswell.

My question is what is this is it caused my my tmj is it a bad allergy (last year i got allergys for the first time i couldnt breath out of my nose for 3 month but dristan cleared it up, nothing like this though). or is it a presistant sinus infection ( i get post nasal drip aswell) I dont have green mucus.

Does a ct scan of head show sinuses?

I have another dr appt on the 9th havent been to a ent yet but im sure that is who i will get reffered to.

I am also going to a NM dentist on th 17th to get an orthodic made.

please any advice will help.

take care

Jeff

Have you seen an ENT? I have been having similiar issues, and I possibly do have TMJ issues, but I have intense pressure in the bridge of my nose, and it causes migraines something fierce. I had a ct scan of my coronal sinuses, and it shows a blocked sinus and a deviated septum up high. I never knew I had a blocked sinus, b/c I have no congestion. He diagnosed me also with chronic sinusitis and said antibiotics wouldn't help. Only surgery to open up the sinus and fix the septum would help and stop my migraines.

I would recommend seeing an ENT and getting one of those sinus ct scans. I hope all goes well.

Hi Quincy,

just giving a quick update, I went to an ENT this week and I am scheduled to get xrays on my sinuses aaswell as an allergy test. Right now I have a cold that I just caught, so everything is 5x worse haha oh well. I will keep you posted. My TMJ seems to be getting slowly better, just gotta get this stupid sinus thing under control and life will be good again.

Hi Jeff...For an ENT, see Dr. Brenda Levin, I have experience with her and it won't take you long to get in with a referral to see her.

I took Nasonex and ended up with a sinus infection...I don't take anything like that any longer...

Sudafed might help...see if it does. It won't help with TMJ, but if you do have problems with sinuses or eustachian tubes, it could.

Have you tried a neti pot? It's a nasal wash...might help.

The weather hasn't been the greatest for people with sinus/allergies.

Have you been to an allergist? If you are plagued by allergies, it's possible that something like Singulair might help...but discuss it with a doc.

An x-ray could give indication what's happening in your sinuses.

Hope this helps

Thank you. I did have a ct scan and it showed a blocked sinus and a deviated septum. I have had a ct scan before b/c I also had a deviated septum 12 years ago, but it is not deviated in a different place. He diagnosed me as chronic sinusitis, and I am now having major sinus issues thanks to a cold that isn't going away. But I can't schedule surgery yet. Thanks again for your reply.

Jeff...sorry for the late reply. were you able to see dr. Levin? The x-rays should show an infection and what sinus it's in.

Good the TMJ is improving.

Enjoy the weather!! been a long time coming..

Colds are going around the city at this time...and today I woke up with one..grrrrr. Feel better soon, although it won't help your sinuses any. Take Sudafed!
