An electric potential is given by:
V = 0 for z < 0,
V = Cz for 0 < z < d, and
V = Cd for z > d,
where C and d are positive constants. The potential does not depend on x or y.

1.Find the electric field (magnitude and direction) at a point where:
a) z = -3
b) 0 < z < d
c) z > d
Express your answer in terms of some or all of the quantities given in the introduction and the unit vectors, x_unit, y_unit, and z_unit.

2.What charge distribution could be the source of this field? Choose one from the following:
A spherical shell of negative charge.
A spherical shell of positive charge.
Infinite parallel plates of opposite charge.
Infinite parallel plates of the same charge.
An infinite plate of negative charge.
An infinite plate of positive charge.
