Please answer any ones you what.
Also number 2 was suppose to say: The length of a rectangle is 3 times the width, and the perimeter is 22. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.
Oops, sorry. I meant answer any ones that you want.

You mean...."want"?

#4 Two numbers....a & b

*** One number is five more than another
=> a = b + 5

*** their sum is three less than three times the smaller
=> a + b = 3b - 3

NOTE.....'b' must be the smaller number because if a = b + 5, that infers that b is smaller. Make sense?

Now solve:

a = b + 5
a + b = 3b - 3

=> a = 3b - 3 - b
=> a = 2b - 3
=> (b + 5) = 2b - 3
=> b - 2b = -3 - 5
=> -b = -8
=> b = 8

Thus....'a' must be 13.

mmmkay?

4)

first number is x
second number is (x+5)

set-up:

3x - ( x + (x+5) ) = 3
solve for x
x = -2

smaller number = -2
larger number = 3
