Hi, I'm new here and desperately need help understanding what my CT scan
means. All my doc said to me was aah "disc problems" & said he'll send me to a specialist. I've been suffering for over two years & now have terrible nerve pain, nurabness, tingling & a strange burning feeling mostly on my right side from my lower back right to the tips of my toes. Hopefully someone can make light of all this jibberish...please & thank you!!!
L2-L3, L3-L4 levels show no concerning spinal canal abnormalities.
At L4-L5 diffuse disc bulge is noted. There is some gas seen adjacent to the right lateral recess and neural foramen region.
This lies adjacent to the facet joints which are degenerative and hypertrophied suggestive for displaced right-sided intra joint facet gas.
Ligamentum flavum is hypertrophied at this level causing moderate spinal canal narrowing.
At L5-S1, diffuse disc bulge is noted. No significant other findings.
Nerve Foramina are patent.
I note this patient has right leg pain.
It is conceivable that the right L4 nerve foramen could be compomised due to the small focus of gas measuring 5mm associated with the facet joint.
IMPRESSION: L4-L5 disease as described. Right lateral recess may be compromised to displaced facet gas.
