please help with car audio?

i have 2 alpine type e's and i just bought a pioneer 5300t which is a 760 watt amp. i hooked it up and it all worked. listened to it for a little bit then the bass went out. so i looked at the amp and it was off. i secured the connections again. the ground is in tight in the amp as well as bolted to the car. the remote wire seems to be connected well in the radio and the amp. as well as the power cord. when i turn the key the blue light on the amp comes on then immediately goes off. if it was the power cord i assume i wouldnt get any reaction out of the amp. does anyone know what i can do to fix this? the rcas are brand new. the two things that i can only imagine it would be is the remote wire is kind of old but it had worked before. the second thing is the power wire is either 8 or 12 gauge im not sure and it is pretty old. someone help please???
 
It's your fuses. Check under the hood for a blown fuse or look on your amp for a blown fuse. Also you could have blown one of your subs, if this is the case then you are shorting your circuit and it will just power off. You need to unplug both your subs and find out which is blown.
