My friend has an '87 Grand Marquis. Recently - after a history of running fine, and using only mid-grade gasoline - it just started dying. At first it started with a jump start. Then, due to more problems, she has replaced the battery and the alternator. Now - when she was driving it this weekend. . . it just went dead. Died at a traffic light. An hour and half later it started up and drove about ten miles before dying again. When it dies, and she tries to start it - it makes a clicking noise but no other sounds. . . just the clicking. She finally got it home and put it on a battery charger - just in case - over night and added some fuel injector cleaner to the full tank. This morning it started right up - but then died during an idle - and wouldn't restart. This is my friend's only way to work and is very important to fix asap - any help would be appreciated!! Many thanks! Kym

This sounds like an electrical problem. I thing that my fiances grandpas car did the same thing to us while we drove his Marquis up north. I had shut if off and it was totally dead. I would check battery connections, silinoid, any loose wires. Good luck with this issue. I know how it is!
