I have been struggling with this question for well over two hours, and I still haven't figured it out...any assistance would be much appreciated. The question is:

If the mercury concentration in a polar bear is 1.23 ppm, what is the mass of the mercury in a 900 kg bear?

Please show steps + formulas if possible...I have five other questions like this that I would like to solve for myself. :)

900kg = 900,000g/1,000,000=.9g
Assuming that all parts of a polar bear are of equal weight (which I doubt) that means that one millionth of a polar bear weighs .9g.
Therefore the weight of Hg in the bear should be 1.23x.9g=1.107g
Now all we have to figure out is the relationship of weight and mass.
Can you take it from there?
