Please Help Question on Sims 2 Pets For PS2!!!?

Sorry, I am just got the game and I really suck at it so I keep posting questions. Anyway my cat kepps jumping on the counter where I cook. It gets up there and takes a nap. My sim can't cook because of my stupid cat. After I shoo the pet, it always comes back up how do i get it to go away ( with out selling it!!)
My Piggle Puff always needs food and it's cage cleaned and i do everything for it like almost 24/7 cause its like my 15th one (they keep running away) how many times a sim day do I need to feed it and clean its cage??

maybe always.it depends how many pets u have. then while im playing the sims 2 :pets, i cant control the pet anyway.... :D
thats in ur piggle puff. in the cat scene, even if u shoo ur pet still it'll come back 2 u.if ur irritated by ur cat in the sims 2: pets, it's ur choiice i u want 2 sell it....
