please help,my fish just died,please..?

hello,my fish just died,it was a otoclinus catfish or dwarf sucker catfish,it had almost a complete hole in its side,at first it looked like cottony growth or a damaged area,then it was swimming funny and it died,please help me.what is this,i dont want my other fish to get sick
