Ponytail palm bonsai regarding potsize/shape
I have had this elephant tree in the same pot for way too many years, because I couldnt find a pot that had the same shape but bigger.
So yesterday I gave up and bought this huge pot for it. But I think it is way too high?
Will my tree die because of this? I read they prefer to live crowded, but this is a very big pot for it. The height is about 35 centimetres, the one it had before about 15centimetres. On the width theres not so much difference, the new pot is perhaps 10-15centimetres wider which is good as the trees stam is very thick.

Please someone, I have lived with this tree for more than 7 years, it is very dear to me.
I just couldnt find a larger pot with the same shape:-( Now worried the pot is way too high
And i used normal soil as thats what it looks like it wasoriginally planted in!
It is a bonsai, very thick stam, the originally pot was shaped as bonsai pot but cant find a bigger pot in same shape! Will my bonsai tree die with a normal shaped high pot?
If its a problem, can I put another material than soil in the lowest part? I have put soil in the whole of the pot.
Please help me, I really do love my tree!
