I have a 1994 Toyota 4-runner with a bad head (machine shop wasn't able to get all the pits out of it caused by the antifreeze). Is it true that there is a plate somewhere on the cylinder head of a 22R that can be removed to allow for the fuel injection of the 22RE? So what I'm asking is-can a 22R head be used on a 22RE engine? I am having the hardest time trying to find a 22RE head that doesn't break the bank. Everyone seems to have 22R's. Help with the above 2 questions would be greatly appreciated!!!
