...author,...? ...all I have are memories!
As a boy, I used to borrow this book from the local library back in the late 1960s early 1970s, in the UK. The book may have contained the words 'Castle, fortress or stronghold' in the title, but wouldn't swear to this.
It was not a children's book, but it had, as I seem to recall, some wonderful isometric drawings (not plans) of various castles, including krak Des Chevaliers in Syria, Beaumaris in Anglesey, and one, which I think was Italian, that reminded me of a tortoise.
It was one of those books that allowed you to imagine you were almost able to walk around the castles illustrated.
I have, over the last year, tried various bookfinder sites, and purchased several books thinking I had found it, but to no avail, can anyone help find the title, or else point me in the right direction to find such help?
