Role Models

When we think of someone who encourages us, or just in general is someone we look up to, we call them role models. They are the people who help us find out who we are. Role models have an impact on most people’s lives by providing confidence in themselves, influencing looks, and inspiring dream jobs. It is my belief that almost everyone has a role model, whether it’s a family member, friend or celebrity.
Perhaps confidence is one of the most important self evaluations of yourself. In many ways role models help young teens to achieve the confidence they need to become their own person. Confidence is a really big thing in a teen’s life. When teens see someone acting or singing it requires a lot of confidence, it shows that they, themselves, can do it too. If you can practise being confident and talk more to other people, you can help yourself you become your own person and eliminate your fears.

Although confidence is important another factor rises up with it. That factor is the influence that role models have on teens and how they look. Especially with today’s society, looks are a huge thing! Looks are what helps young girls, (and even guys) to get through there school life. However, are all role models a good influence on teens? When building your sense of character we often look to the celebrities on television. Secondly, those celebrities often give off the wrong impression (Super skinny bodies, revealing clothing, and lots of make-up). But teens do have the choice whether to look up to those role models or to love themselves the way they are. It’s really your own choice if you do your make-up and hair different along with your sense of clothes. Just remember it’s all about you, and your choices.

Frequently, role models inspire us in different ways. We usually see something their doing that we can picture ourselves doing too. Even if it’s a dream job or something just for fun. Inspire, it’s the word that brings great ideas to one’s mind. It is amazing what people can accomplish with just being inspired by someone. It’s perhaps the best to inspire teens, because it helps them figure out what they want to be in life, and they can reach for that goal. Not always do you get inspired by a celebrity. As I mentioned before it can be as easy as a family member or a friend who had a fantastic job, like a doctor or writer. You may even be tempted to try something now that you’ve never tried before.
