i can prove financial burden? Last August i got fired from my job basically because i got stabbed in the back by a friend. Even though the company i worked for was fighting it...the state found that i was not disqualified for benefits. And i recieved benefits for about 8 months...the whole time my company was fighting it and losing. Until they decided to take it to court & my employers lied & i ended up losing my unemployment. Now they are trying to make me pay it back...which i for one think is completely unfair. They are the ones that gave it to me in the first place. So i called the uneployment agency and they said something about a waiver to show that it would be a financial burden to pay it back. I am already hugely in debt with credit cards, school loans, medical bills, car loan, etc. I was wondering if anyone had any insight of how much in debt i would have to be for it to be waived for financial burden...just curious if this is a possibility for me. Im already in collections for some medical bills and credit cards. And im easily $20,000 in debt. I have more in bills than what i make a month. I have a part time job, minimum wage...so i don't exactly make much money. Do you think i have a case or any advice for me.
