please help me ID this movie...??!!!

ok - i only remember this one very speical clip, from a programme in the 80's about dinosaur movies. ive never in all my years been able to find the movie, nor been able to catch any more clips of it.

I just remember this rather space aged looking guy being chased by a styracosaurs (looks kind of like a triceratops) and he runs - but he no where left to go - because there is this big clift. so - he gets out his laser - and fires at the beast. but misses! and the monster keeps charging and he falls! The dinosaur was stop motion (i'm sure of it).

Ive just seen Valley of Gwangi - and just reliving all those Dino movies that I missed as a kid!!!
 
It always amazed me how they can miss with a lazer gun. I mean a beam of light shoots out for goRAB sake, watch where it goes, if it misses aim to the right a bit. It's not rocket science.
