wont crank. Any suggestions? I got this car from a family friend- was told the fuel pump was bad. It had been sitting up for about 6 months. I replaced fuel pump & battery & to my suprise it cranked. It ran but would die if i stopped sometimes & died sometimes when i put it in gear but would start again. I drove it about 20 miles the next day to pick up some spark plugs. Then, it died in the middle of the city & would only start after I squirted gas directly into it. Died 3 times trying to get it home. Took out plugs, there was oil. Replaced valve cover gaskets and plugs which i think fixed spark problem. Blew out fuel filter and air in the line. Now, car cranks at first, runs for ten minutes, then dies. cranks, then dies, then wont crank. Im not a mechanic so i need suggestions. What could it be? Noticed battery lost charge, would alternator have anything to do with it? Even when i charge battery or jump off,still wont crank after it dies. Also, could a throttle valve be dirty? A fuel injector? Please help me
