I'm a 33 year old caucasian male with almost no medical problems in my past. I'm 6' 0" tall and weigh 220 lbs. I'm slightly overweight for my size but I'm also very muscular and in pretty good shape because I do work out daily. I do not smoke or use any type of drugs and I very rarely drink. The only possible vice I have is that I love caffeine and I probably drink too much Starbucks. I've been experiencing an array of symptoms for approx 3-4 years now. I also changed jobs and homes around this time so it could possibly be environmental. The main symptom is upper right side abdominal pain. There is always discomfort there and mild pain. It's a very dull pain which sometimes becomes more severe. I have noticed that Barq's Root Beer, peanuts and/or honey tend to make it much worse although I have no idea what those things have in common or why and yes, I have stopped eating all of them. My other symptoms are as follows:
-Pressure headaches when angry or excited
-irritability
-occular manifestations
-excessive gas at night
-occasional anal discomfort
-occasional coldness in an extremity (usually a single hand or foot)
-very dry skin in right ear
-skin that is overall too oily or too dry
-the tops of my feet turn red and itchy sometimes
-hemorrage splinters on fingernails (only happened once)
-tiny flesh colored bumps on the bottom of my feet (between heal and pad/can't pop them)
-acne on all parts of my face, neck, shoulders and arms inc forearms (never had acne before)
In addition to all of this I have a very strange symptom that worries me. I absolutely love being scratched anywhere and everywhere on my body. It's not that I itch (except for the tops of my feet when red) but when my girl scratches me my eyes roll back in my head and I make sounRAB like I'm having an orgasm. I really do enjoy just simply being scratched almost as much as having sex. Please don't laugh because while this sounRAB like a good thing and it does feel absolutely amazing I know that something's not right and this is not normal so I'm including it as a symptom.
The pressure headaches can be very intense and work like this. They almost always happen when I'm at a sporting event cheering for my team. Whenever something good or bad happens and I get excited or angry I can feel pressure building in my head and everything starts shaking back and forth. I'm immediately forced to sit down when this happens and grab my head. It typically only lasts for 5-10 seconRAB. I'm a very passionate person so it's hard for me not to get excited. The pain from these headaches is concentrated around my frontal lobes.
As for my medical history, I have acid reflux and I'm allergic to dust mites (both types) but nothing else that I know of. I went to an allergist and was tested for approx 60 things and dustmites were the only thing that came back positive. I also had a lipoma tumor form on my upper right shoulder blade about 3-4 years ago. I'm not sure if this could be an additional symptom or just a random occurence but I had it removed a year and a half ago and that is the only surgery I've ever had. I also had an EGD done about a year ago (that's when I found out about the acid reflux) and he gave my antibiotics (amoxicillin I believe) to kill H-Pylori. The antibiotics actually helped with almost all of my symptoms (especially the abdominal pain and skin) but they started to return just a couple weeks after I was off of them. The only symptom which has not returned was the very dry skin in and around my right ear which was there for 2 years before the antibiotics. I've had 4 stool samples tested and endless blood tests done and my doctor can't figure out what is wrong with me. The only thing we found on any of the blood tests was low glucose but I hadn't eaten that day so we dismissed that for that reason.
The only medication I take is Nexium for the reflux and while I no longer have heartburn it has not done anything for the abdominal pain which I thought for sure was being caused by the reflux. I have used Head and Shoulders shampoo most of my life as I had dandruff at one point in high school and that fixed it so I've used it ever since. I have removed my carpet and installed hardwood flooring, installed a UV light in my AC unit, use a Hepa filter in my bedroom and high quality antimicrobial filters in my home all to help with the dustmites. I also have stopped eating chocolate, citrus, spicy fooRAB and tomatoes to help with the refux as well as sleeping at an incline and I no longer eat within 4 hours of bedtime. I also sleep on an antimicrobial mattress with a dustmite/allergy antimicrobial cover on it.
I have ruled out so many things and my doctor assures me that all of my internal organs are in perfect working order. The only things left are some sort of bacterial infection, a parasitic infection that is not detected in stool samples or an allergy to something (possibly mold in the workplace walls as none is visible). I do own 2 cats and I keep my home and workplace very clean and neat. That's all I can think of for now so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read all of that and I will add more to it as it comes to me.
