Hello I have a question If anyone knows anything about this or could help me understand it more please reply back thanks. Well to begin about 3, 4 years ago I was diagnosed with one of my main arteries in my left kidney I want to think it was the doc told me has a small blockage... not from fatty tissue from food but from some kind of fatty tissue that acts like a ruberband and some women get it sometimes... the doctor told me if my blood pressure ever gets out of control or my anxiety then to come back and I would have to have the stent put in... my main concern is I haven't been back since then and my blood pressure goes up every now and then and I have high anxiety and have a terrible time sleeping at night, I was just wondering if this kind of kidney problem has any symptoms and if there is anyone else on here with it. Also I am always very tired. Thanks for the help

i don't have what you have going on but i do have vascular issues along with also just having a kidney and a liver disease. if this was actually that many years ago,you really DO need to get an ultrasound done on the kidneys at this point, just to see what is actually still flowing thru that artery. i am just assuming here that the original issue was also discovered with an ultrasound? the ultrasound with that doppler tool they use, really does check bloodflow thru organs really well. you simply need that comparative study done now just to see how much, if any, this maybe has progressed.

the kidneys also play a huge part in governing our BPs too,so if your BPs are becomming involved as well,it REALLY is needed now(the US). what are your BPs like right now, what is the average "norm" for you at this point, and how were they before this? since this has simply been a matter of years since this was checked on,it really needs that follow up at this point since alot can change even in as little as six months time with certain conditions, years? well,it just needs to be done ya know? you just NEED to know where that kidney is at with the bloodflow and any possible damage becasue of it that could have also occured with impaired flow to any organ,if this truely is going on right now. this is exactly what any good ultrasound will show you, blood flow and any possible damage. getting your kidney labs run as well right now wouldn't hurt either.

did your doc, upon finding out about this artery problem actually refer you to a good nephrologist or is your primary handling all this for you still? please keep me posted on things, but DO get that follow up US done,it REALLY is needed. FB

thanks for your reply. Yeah I had an untrasound and something didnt sound right my artery in my left kidney i believe it was and he said it was most probably clogged a little not with fatty tissue from food but something that women get sometimes this tissue that acts like a rubberband and goes over the artery and stops it up i really dont know how to explain it but you're definetly right i do need to go back soon and check up on it because i have pretty bad anxiety and my blood pressure goes up every now and then. Do you know anything about this? I know he sad if my blood pressure and anxiety got totally out of control it'd be because of that which it isnt like that right now but he said then they would do a stent, I guess i was just wondering how serious this is, i really didnt talk alot about it with him because at the time i was going through a rough time loosing someone very close to me but thank you for your reply and i will keep you updated, i know i need to go and check on it.

i do know how you can be effected when you lose someone very close to you too, sorry for that loss you suffered.
anything that can effect bloodflow to any organ just needs constant monitoring just to make certain that it does not become impaired(or even closed off either partially or completely) at some point in which damage can occur becasue the kidney is simply not getting enough bloodflow anymore. there are a few different things that can also effect BPs besides "just" kidney function, but the kidneys really ARE the main factor in BP regulation for the most part. so anything wrong with them can affect that as i mentioned above.

i would most definitely speak with whoever is monitoring this for you and request another(follow up or comparative study) ultrasound right now,it just needs that "looksee",espescially if the BPs are getting way too high. this is what i would do if i were you. don't always go with exactly what any doc has told you about any specific thing going on "before' it will get some real attention. there are always other factors involved, you know what i mean? just becasue you are not suffering very 'specific" things he told you,you DO have to get that BP back down or it will cause some very real damage to the kidneys over time, that much i DO know. it can also damage your "good' kidney too. its just the connection the BPs have with the kidneys. it can take its toll eventually, that is why you really NEED to get this all rechecked and decide from there what really needs to be done, now.

are you being monitored by an actual nephrologist or just your primary? you simply DO need to be seeing a nephrologist to really follow this in the best way for you. not all primary docs are as knowledgable as most nephs actually are when it comes to the more in depth kidney issues. just what are your BPs averaging right now? what were they before they started to get on that higher end? are you currently on any BP meds to get this to a more consistant level or are they just watching this?

i would really try and get that new US as soon as possible at this point. high BPs over time can create a whole lot of different types of medical issue and place you at very high risk for stroke or heart attack among other things. i would get an appt with whoever sent you for the last US next week if possible for the new referral. and please DO keep me posted. good luck, FB
