divert 75% of the armed forces in Iraq? To stabilize afghanistan.... I'm 4 it. but I have to go against it)= I dont have much back up though, just the cost.... I need more info though... dont want to look stupid...thanks 4 the help
 
When we first went into Iraq, Afghanistan was thought to be "done". If we now divert forces out of Iraq, to Afghanistan, we may very well repeat the same mistake. Moving our forces around, thinking they were done, is part of the reason why the cost of the war is larger than initially expected.

I say we finish up Iraq on the planned time line and then put everything into Afghanistan. It would be nice if our "allies" could cough up some support, too.
 
make your entire argument that the government should not tell the military how to fight a war.

The military has a plan in place, let's execute it.

Then just look up some stuff on the generals in charge and what the current plan is to fill up time.
 
No. Afghanistan lacks the size or the population to require a military force of that size. Likewise, it doesn't have the infrastructure needed to support that many troops either.

Please remember, when Afghanistan fell there were only 10,000 US troops in the country, vice 250,000 in Iraq when it fell
