For as long as I can remember I have been very underweight and had to cope with insults, people staring and laughing at me and at times it reduces me to tears when I am alone. I am 17, but I have noticed that I have put on weight at the top of my arms.

To give you an idea of my body condition, I have thin wrists, but my thighs are quite chubby. My ribs at times have some meat on them too. I tried before to put on weight, but I gave up and kept telling myself that I was always gonna be a skinny little rat.

Reading something gave me an idea that I wanted to check with you guys... will putting a bit of vegetable oil in drinks etc help with me gaining weight by giving me more nutrients? Also, should I drink more water? To be honest, I'm not a big fan of water and prefer coffee, tea, coke, fanta and that sort of thing.

Also, almost straight after eating big meals, I have to go to the loo- no need to say any more!

Someone please help before I give up all together and plunge further into the pit of depression:D!!!!!

Hey^^ I too suffer from being serverly underweight.

First of all, the people who stare and laugh at you. Dont even let that bother you. I know it might be hard at first but just remember sticks and stones.

Okay the easiest way I gain weight, and stay very healthy is to simply get protien power, mix it with water or gatorade and go exercise. Now i understand you are a female, and you probably dont want to be a body builder, but if you excercise a regular amount it will develop your muscles and you WILL gain weight.

Once you have the weight, do whatever exercise to emphasize any part of your body you want.

Hope this helped

Cheers!

It sounds like you need a few blood tests, anemia, thyroid, or you could have a fast metabolism, it's possible you'll bloom later in life, some girls do.

Are you joking around in your post or do you seriously think this way about who you really are. It's easy for someone to say, you need to think nicer thoughts of yourself, but how do you go about it, right? Buy helping others, taking your eyes off of yourself and do for someone that can't do for themselves, volunteering at a nursing home, or joining a youth group. You'll feel that your an important person, someone needs you, and you need them. Everyone is here on earth for a reason, you are too! Your here for a reason, you go through things in your life, For A Reason do something that is good and good things can come back to you.

I was always skinny too, really skinny, I ate like crazy, found out it was my thyroid all along. There's hope, chin up. Diana

I've had loads of blood tests in the past, yet the doctors never told me what was going on. I haven't had an appointment in ages.

Thanks for your motivation though!! I'll try and think more positively!:D

Whew, Regina, I was kind of worried about you for a minute there, hope you can keep the self talk more positive. When you think positively you attract it to you.

What kind of blood test have you had done. What did the doctors tell you? When did have them done. The more you can remember the more help you'll get.
