Hi, I've been having neck and back pain for going on 2yrs after seeing a chiropractor. I was initially seeing her for muscular pain I had been experiencing for 7yrs from tmd. I was recommended that a cranial chiro was the way to go so i had the consultation and was told I had some spinal issues that was causing all of my symptoms. I informed her though that I was not having any spinal pain; just muscular and just wanted to have some cranial chiro work done. She insisted though that I have a full spinal manipulation and since I was desperate for some pain relief I decided to go along with her treatment. About 3 months of seeing her I started having actual back, neck and spinal pain and had to start sleeping with a special pillow and have a back support when driving. I also noticed the more I went there when I thought I was laying straight I was actually laying at a slant. I informed my chiro about this and she said it was natural to feel pain and it would get better, but it didn't and got much worst. I eventually told her that I wanted to get another x-ray to check the progress. Once she gave me an x-ray I swear she said "uh,oh" I asked her what was wrong and she said I needed more treatments to relieve my spinal pain. She said she would do it free of charge, but I declined and left.
Now about 3 months after seeing her I had a big drop in energy, my joints were very sore and popping everywhere. It felt like my whole body was out of aligned. I went to a spinal specialist and found that I had scoliosis in my thoracic and lurabar areas and 3 bulging discs in my cervical. I was told that I didn't have any nerve damage or pinched nerves and was recommended to a physical therapist. After 3 months of PT I didn't feel any different so I decided to see a pain specialist and here I am now. The Dr. is doing some blood work and ordered an x-ray of my neck(flexed).
My feeling is that with the many manipulations I had with the chiro it's thrown off the natural curvature of my spine which is causing joint pain throughout the rest of my body and the other numerous symptoms I'm having
I'm not sure now if I should go back to a chiro to readjust my spine or continue with physical therapy.
If anyone could please give me any kind of advice I would greatly appreciate it.
These are some of the my symptoms:
Back/Neck Pain
Loss of energy
Sudden hair-loss
Low Immune system
Hard to concentrate
Burning sensation in hanRAB
Pain in moving hanRAB and fingers
Popping in joints
Slowed Metabolism
Little to no sex drive
Pain and cracking in knees
Weakness in back
Unconscious gasping of air due to pressure on back/spine
