i just reciently very quickly detoxed myself off 80mg methadone, my dr friend gave me 2 adviinza caps (time release morphine) if withdrawel got too bad. I took One cap at the beginning days and didnt get high or anything, it just made the physical go away. I never took 2nd. It has been over three weeks since i stopped the methadone or had any opiates. The only withdrawel symotom i have been having is i am soo tired and depressed i just cant manage to get my self motivated, although i am doing it and keeping my self as busy as i possibly can. I was wondering when this is going to stop and if the physical withdrawel will ever come back? I can deal with the mental and the tired (although it is terrible) but i want to give back the Advinza cap to my Dr and be rid of it, but i also dont want to just one day get up and have the physical. IS this normal for the physical to go away so fast and just have the tiredness or shuld i expect some more problems?? I am starting next week coulseling to cover the mental part, just want to know if the physical part is completely gone.. any advice on this?/ I went off the methadone because i just felt that it was becomming too burdonsome in my life, i want to live and not be chained down to a drug or anything. I dont drink or do anyother drugs, so i am not worried about things like that, but i am worried that the physical comes back and then i go back on.. that is the last thing io want. please any advice would be great
thanks

Hey there Sherm1971 - welcome to the group. Count yourself lucky. Everyone's body is different and some people have less of a time with the withdrawals than others. I can't speak specifically about methadone detox, but if it's been 3 weeks w/o and w/d's I think you might be in the clear with the physical end of it. You can always give the Advinza capsule to someone you trust to hold it for you just in case if you don't trust yourself, or just give it back to the doctor. I envy you that you can get through the physical part of it! I honestly hate withdrawals!! Work on the mental end now by staying busy. If you get too depressed, see your physician about possibly getting an Rx for antidepressants. Get out and get exercise to help boost your spirits and start building endorphins again. Good Luck to you!

thank you very much, and ill hang in there. I appreciate your advice and wish you the best

You will find that increasing your endorphins will really help with the cravings. I like to hike and finishing a hike I would get an endorphin rush. It was teaching my body how to recreate the endorphins naturally again. Everyone getting over a stint of opiate drugs neeRAB to somehow get the natural endorphins running again in there body. You have to teach your body how to make them again because the opiates had taken over that job. Good Luck to you!

thank you
