Please help a Mom

I am a former alltel customer and used to being able to get on alltel site and turn on or off messaging on my daughters phone.

I found out last night that she is using the the phone very inappropriately and want to turn off messaging until she straightens out. The only thing i could find to do is to pay Verizon $4.99 to have that feature. Is there another way to get that done?

Unfortunately there is no other way to block text messaging on the Verizon system. I do know that blocking data does not cost though. (have them remove national access).
