Really bad anxiety. People that I Have seen have to have an anxiety med when withdrawing from it. There is meds that can help you stop but they don't stop the side effects.
The only way to manage it is being on an anxiety med for a while.
The meds I said above are Antabuse and Vivitrol(Injection)
Sudden Alcohol withdrawal if someone is a long-term heavy drinker can be very dangerous. You get the shakes, sweat, anxiety and often have fits. The most dangerous time is within 36 hours of the last drink. Fits are caused by the brain being dehydrated by the alcohol and then the fluid or water hydrating the brain again (bit like a sponge) and causing the blood vessels to burst. Best way is to get help and medication to come off it slowly.
Hope this helps.
