I was wondering how early you can take a home pregnancy test?
And how accurate it would be at that time?

Well heres my story. I had my last period on Sep.4th,2009.. My menstrual cycle is usually 30 days long.. My next expected period is on Oct.4th, 2009 but i happen 2 have unprotected sex with my love on all of my fertile days except 1. And he did go inside me... i was wondering how early i would be able to take one and on which date and how accurate it would be?
 
You could probably take the test on Sunday (the 27th). Check the box, though, some tests are more sensitive than others.

They're basically checking for the hcg hormone in your urine. Your body only produces this when you're pregnant.

The more sensitive the test, the more likely it is to detect a little little amount of this hormone, and give you a positive.

On the other hand, it can depend on the individual (if you are pregnant) how much of the hormone you do produce, or when conception actually occurred.

My period was 10 days late before I had a positive on a pregnancy test (I'm 6 months pregnant now). And the dollar store tests worked for me, where Clear Blue digital told me I wasn't pregnant....

If your period doesn't come, keep checking every few days or so. You can get a false negative (not enough hormone yet), but you can't get a false positive (the hormone's only there if you're expecting).
 
i think i remember reading that u can take it 2weeks after the unprotected sex. not sure how accurate it would be but it doesnt hurt to try. itll put ur mind at rest at least.
 
With both my pregnancies i took the test which both came out positive and i was only 2 weeks pregnant.
It dependes on the level of HCG in your body. If you suspect you may be pregnant buy a pack with 2 tests. take one test as soon as you wake up using first morning urine and if negative re-test in few days to a weeks time. If you DO have a positive result see your doctor, they will do blood tests and probably have you test on a stick again like mine did.

and i took a test a week before my period was due
and came out positive now im 14weeks :)
but as far as i no a week before your period is due is as soon as you can take it
