I’m celebrating my 17th birthday this Friday since the actual date of my birthday this year is during our Final Quarterly Exams—and most of my friends will less likely be allowed to go since they need to review.
While I don’t claim to be perfect, I’m the type of friend who is thoughtful and non-judgmental. There are 7 of us girls—4 freshmen (Alex, Jo, Dana and Nina), 3 juniors (Mary, Ali and me, Jade)—in a group and I’ve invited them all, because I wouldn’t want to leave anyone out.
Jo, Dana and Nina have a problem with Alex. They’re all upset with her to the point that they no longer consider her a friend. Mary, Ali and I want nothing to do with it and aren’t taking sides—to be honest, we don’t really know who to trust. It’s causing a strain on our group.
As for me? I considered the following options regarding my party:
a) Invite everyone and ask them to at least try to be on their best behavior, for my sake. (Awkward for some, though. Also, isn’t this kind of selfish? :/ I don’t want to force anyone to do something they don’t want.)
b) Invite everyone EXCEPT Alex. (I’m not really mad at her like the rest are, but I don’t like what she’s doing either and I don’t want to be unfair—to her, that is.)
