playstation memory cards??

I wanted to save PS1 games on my PS2...so I bought an official ps1 memory card which did not work. I have now bought another third party memory card, but I have just read somewhere that third party ones don't work in the PS2 - is this true?
 
yes its true just use your ps2 one to save ps1 games on it its wat i do works noooooo problem
