Ok all you PS3 fanboys (and girls)...currently, the Playstation 3 only is now only sold in a 40 gb system that is NOT ps2 compatable. What gives???? Has anybody heard or has Sony announced what the next PS3 hardware will be that will offer PS2 compatability and when it will come out? Currently, the Xbox 360 offers backward capability (with a hard drive) for many of their old xbox games (with more to come). Is the PS3 forgoing the PS2 game compatibility??!!!!? If so, you will find it hard to 'convert' this xbox fanboy to a PS3, but lets hear it. And if you do know the facts, lets see some proof (i.e. URLs, sources, etc.) and not some silly little 'I think...' , please

Random Impact Man: dude, you know so little of what you are talking about...go to the Sony Playstation 3 web site and you will note that they are very specific about the current 40 gb model(and yes,the 80 gb one that was available at xmas is no longer available at gamestop,best buy,etc.) and calls out in BIG RED LETTERS this warning:
"40GB PLAYSTATION 3 System
This model of the PLAYSTATION®3 system is designed to play PLAYSTATION®3 format software and has limited backward compatibility. This system is not compatible with, and will not play, PlayStation®2 format software. Some PlayStation® format software may play on this system."
