i was emailing a camp counselor a few weeks ago, and she needs ideas for camp plays. i was wondering if anyone here on y!a could help me. here are the conditions:
1). they have to be able to be learned in two weeks, memorized, with an hour long rehearsal mondays through fridays. the girls are from ages 7 to 16, and mostly unexperienced.
2).it's summer camp, so nothing too "adult", (guys and dolls, rent, etc.)
3). limited romance (it's an all girls camp.) like, at most, the romance in bye bye birdie.
4). they can be performed in under an hour. yes, the script will definitely need to be cut, but not miss any necessary parts of the storyline.
5). there have to be plenty of roles. for example, bye bye birdie didn't work when we did it 2 years ago because there weren't enough crucial roles, and most girls in the drama class of 15-20 people only had about 2 lines.
bonus points if it has a musical soundtrack. (not to perform, but for the dance classes, etc.)
thank you in advance.
