Playing Galactic Civilization II, my computer shuts down randomly. What's going on?

It shuts down randomly and suddenly. It does not go through the regular shut down process. While it only seems to be happening with GalCiv2, I have nothing to compare it with because it's currently my only installed game.

Computer- Lenovo T60, 13" LCD Screen, 3 gigabytes RAM, Dual Core 1.6Ghz processor, about a 60GB hard drive...
