Played the Wii over at a friends house and...

The Wii won't fail simply because it's going to be an amazing 'party' type system.

I'd much rather play something that has EVERYONE playing rather than the normal gamers.

Pick up a 360 or PS3 in addition to it, but definatly grab a wii at some point.
 
The only game non gamers seem to be playing is Wii Sports. If this thing is really going to draw in non gamers, what other games will do it? Non gamers sure aren't going to go out and buy the likes of Zelda, Marioc, SSBM, etc.

This is an initial fad that will die down quick.
 
The thing has been out for less then a week. The library will start to build fast though and with that will come party games that will draw in the non-gamers
 
The Wii is a magical stand point, that it has developed a product that viral marketing built in. Its made to be played by more than one person therefore each person who buys one obviously is going to spread the word in the involvment of the Wii when they share the experience. Therefore... The Wii could cut advertising by half and still have a profitable product since they leave it most of the "selling points to the actual consumers and fans of the product"... This is how non-gamers will be hooked and people who would never touch a video game will by purchasing the Wii... I love marketing.

edit: if marioc = mario kart and ssbm = supersmashbros melee, you're a moran. those games live off of multiplayer.
 
yes, but those ARE games that gamers play. if you think gamers arent going to catch onto the wii, you are sadly mistaken. but surely wii will sell some units to non gamers, and therefore, will make money off of them instead of not. i dont think nintendo is trying to market games that nongamers dont play to them, it only makes sense. gamers will buy wii and their good titles like mario, mario kart, ssb, zelda, and other such things, as well as titles like wii sports and wii play, non-gamers will buy wii and titles like wii sports, wii play. duh.
 
One of my three friends that I was playing with just bashed it the entire time. You could tell he was into when he was boxing and such but whatever.

Everyone else loves it. I don't think I'll like the wiimote for a few differant types of games, but overall I love it.
