Played the Wii over at a friends house and...

I made a generalized statement. I haven't played Zelda yet. But i've played wii sports, rayman, and super monkey ball. Wii Sports is awesome. The motion control feels extremely refined and everything works great. Rayman was horrible, it made the controller feel almost gimmicky. Super Monkey Ball was good and bad. some of the mini games worked great, but the ones where you have to hold the controller flat facing the motion bar and move around in 360 degrees were absolutely horrible. Most of the time I just stopped trying after the curser flew off the screen. Im sure developers will get better at implementing the controller, but for now... Wii Sports is awesome, and everything else overall sucks.

well, it's attracted 3 of my friends who have previously never played a single game with us. Usually they just sit there and make fun of us for being in our 20's playing games.

Now they're asking if they can play next every round.

Wii sports is like crack.

Also, i'd like to say that for certain games the controller is pretty bad.... but that's probably due to a rush to launch. GT3 looks absolutely terrible, plays terrible, and shouldn't even be on the market. Carbon however, looks fine, plays amazing and really does a good job of utilizing the wii's capabilities.

Of course, some people will hate regardless..... saying that nintendo will fail is fucking laughable.

All three systems have something going for it. I like the Wii because my wife, who's never touched a game control in her life, plays and enjoys it.

The Wii is something you don't look for a system. You obviously are on the other edge of the sword. The target audience for this includes people who find games interesting and they did something PS3 and 360 could not do.. Reach non-gamers...

my wii works flawlessly, the controller is the best thing since ass rape and everyone who has played it has loved it. so I dont know what people are talking about, and for $250 it doesnt exactly have to be the most high tech thing ever to be worth the money.

You can't really blame the controller issues on Nintendo. From the launch games its already shown us just how good and bad the controller can be. It's going to depend A LOT on the game makers.

Obviously the controller isn't going to be perfect.

I found it funny back in 2005 for E3.. When they showed an empty box and had nothing to explain about it. I thought Nintendo was ridicolous and lost thier sense of mind and was going to drop out of home consoles. But 2006 rolls around and they pull the Wii out of there ass.

whats the point of all the speculation of whether it will last or not?

if you like it, play it, if you don't, shut the fuck up and stop going into wii threads because it shows you're obviously a troll.

for people who don't like the wii you guys spend a shitload of time in wii threads

it was built off an OS that was so easy to crack that bootable downloadable games were possible?... I remember having a collection of 200 somewhat games.
