Okay, I have about 4 acres of land and am doing a garden towards the end of my land. The soil is better out there. I am worried about keeping mainly deer out of my seedlings. I am planting tomatoes, okra, various peppers, etc. What can I use (aside from a fence - the garden is 80 ft by 25 ft) to help keep animals away from my plants? Someone suggested human urine for the deer and raccoons, but I'm not really sure if it will work or not. I would appreciate any ideas that have been tried, home remedies, etc.

The only answer is a fence, and a determined deer can clear a 6 ft fence. I have the first fence off thousands of acres of state and county owned lands and it's the only thing that works.

Deer will pretty much just eat any vegetable plant there is. Human and animal urine won't work - I've tried them both, and deer can get used to other sorts of things like soap, motion responsive noisemakers, etc. I've tried everything I could possibly find...and finally built a 6 ft. fence.
