plantar fasciitis

New Balance walking shoes (Style WW 658 WB) work well for me. They fit snug in the heel and give great support. For a long time I used Dr. Scholls gel inserts too.

For 3 1/2 years I could only wear the New Balance walking shoes (suffered on Sunday wearing low heel dress shoes for couple hours).

This past spring I had abdominal wall spasms due to surgery and had to take a muscle relaxer 4 times a day (Robaxin 500 mg) for two weeks. Low and behold, the plantar fascitis released and was able to wear sandals this past summer. I still have a little plantar fascitis, nothing like it had been for the past years. Was great to wear shoes other than sport shoes.

Sure wish I had known earlier a muscle relaxer would release the Plantar Fascitis to a livable state.

My Plantar Fascitis was caused by taking Actenol for osteopenia (6 weeks). My body crashed after the 6th pill and had Plantar Fascitis in feet and sitting bones. Sitting bones cleared up after a while but my feet was another story. Had pain day and night.

Hope this will be of help to you.

Misty,

I thank you very much for sharing your experience with me. This is the first time that I suffer from this plantar fascitis and I feel for anyone that has the same problem.

Doctors do not pay much attention to it, but it is so painful that it really disrupt my entire life. I like taking long walks at night to release tension and now I can not even do that. I have some muscle relaxers that the Doctor had prescribed when I had Sciatica. I am going to take some this weekend to see what happens. If anything, I will be relax and resting....

You have a nice weekend!

I feel your pain! Just got back from the podiatrist today. Been suffering and could not take it anymore. X-ray and ultrasound reveal 9mm swelling of the plantar fascia and a bone spur because I let the swelling go on for too long.
Got Celebrex 2 times daily, a cortisone shot, low cost arch supports by Powerstep from the doc and advice to roll a frozen water bottle along that foot a few times a day. I go back in 10 days. I know this will end up a journey and not a sprint because I let it go too long. :-(
Go get some help. The pain in the am and the limping at the mid and end of the day is not worth it.
Tell us how you do.
