My fiance and I have always wanted an outdoor wedding. Also, we decided a good time to get married was this July.

Now, I live in New Zealand. July is in Winter...

Do we rearrange our plans and have an indoor wedding? And if so, what sort of places should be looked into (no churches).

Or, do we keep it outdoors and hand out complimentary umbrellas?
It'll be cold then too, and I don't want guests to be uncomfortable.

The fiance and I didn't have our hearts set on an outdoor wedding, exactly, it's just something we liked the idea of. If we found somewhere neat and quirky, inside, to marry, we'd do it there.
Like I said (or maybe I forgot... I'll reiterate to emphasize the point) I live in NZ. The hemisphere in which December is Summer and July is Winter.

I'm a bridal consultant in the US, but weather is unpredictable everywhere in the world. Have your outdoor wedding, but have backup plans in case the weather is bad. If it's not totally storming, you might be able to make do with tenting the area you're wanting to have the wedding. I don't know if NZ gets thunderstorms the way we do in the US, and in the US we don't usually get them in the winter time, but they do happen. If it's cold, you can rent space heaters as well. If you contact any party rental supply company, they will have many options and ideas for ways to keep your wedding outdoors, if that's really what you want. But, bear in mind also, you might be better off finding someplace indoors, because then you don't have to have a backup plan for bad weather. Whatever you decide, remember this is YOUR wedding, you do what YOU want to do, as long as you can afford it. Best wishes to you and your hubby to be!

I hate cold & rain. I'm sorry but I would be none too happy to be stepping in mushy grass or freezing cold & an umbrella wouldn't help. It seems pointless to me to add any more stress & uncertainty to the whole wedding planning process by choosing a location that doesn't fit the weather. If I were you, I would change my idea or change my date.

Rent big tents.

Or, you can get married in public places like libraries, museums or aquariums.
