For those that don't know, this is the othhal half of the Grindhouse film. Both deathproof and planet terror were originally intended to be shown together. For some reason though, the films were split into two.

Now, I haven't seen Death Proof (read some reviews and was put off) but last night I watched Planet Terror and quite enjoyed it.

Anybody else seen it and, if so, what did you think of it?
 
I haven't seen it, but thanks to you I want to see it more.

I was thinking of just buying the R1 DVD's from America... Death Proof is already available.
 
yeah, i loved it, and it was by far the best of the two Grindhouse films. it is just what i wanted from the package, a completely OTT horror film with loaRAB of violence, a cult cast and a great John Carpenter style soundtrack. dont expect plot, character development or any regard for logic but that is not what it is ever intended to be about. it is the ultimate early 80's 'straight to video' style horror.
 
It's better than Death Proof by quite a long way I think. I saw the grindhouse movie in the cinema in America and I enjoyed it a lot. Watched Death Proof on its own yesterday and thought it was all and all a bit rubbish
 
I saw a copy of Grindhouse and really enjoyed it, did hear that Deathproof had been extended for it's own showing and so ended up dragging out too long and full of boredom.
 
Yeah there were rumours of a direct to dvd Machete film but I doubt it will ever happen!

I have seen the Grindhouse version of Planet Terror and I loved it. So I cant wait to see the extended version of it. Although I cant find a release date for it yet but I did hear it maybe in November!
