Any Planet of the Apes fans here on RAB? I mean the original films... ok and maybe the TV series :o

Yeah ok, i know it's not the greatest sci-fi franchise in the world and the 2001 're-imagining' didn't do anything to help it's cause (although i liked it!) but you gotta admit, theres something 'bout them monkeys that makes you wanna see them come back in one guise or another surely??? :)

Loved the orginal and just one of the sequels (Caesar and his Mrs go back in time to the 70s), but rest of the sequels were pretty dire (but with still interesting concepts).

Thought the TV show captured the look and feel of the movies and bought the box set for under

I have the original film and the first sequel on DVD which I thought were pretty good, but then the franchise went into overkill.

A few months ago ITV4 (I think) showed some episodes from the TV series, of which I managed to catch a couple of episodes. I have to admit the shows did look dated though.

I have all the movies and the tv series, only thing missing is the animated series.

I am old enough to remember the tv series being aired for the first time, getting it on DVD was a real blast for me. Thanks to the bullshit ratings war in the USA the series was cancelled which was a shame.

I love the series.

I paid a great deal to buy deleted versions on VHS in the mid 80's.

I then bought the non anamorphic R1 set.

Then the R2 anamorphic set along with the R1 release of the tv series.

Then last year I bought the R2 Apehead.

Unfortunately I had to send it back as it was a ripoff.
The R1 version not only has all 5 films in new 5.1 soundtracks but the legendary extended version of BATTLE (10 mins longer) only ever seen on a Japanese Laserdisc was part of the R1 set.
The R2 was simply the previous R2 stuff repackaged.

The Apehead contains the cartoon series which is one of the earliest examples of an animated series with continuing storyline.

The cartoons are out individually on R1 aswell but not R2.

I also have the first 50 or so Apes comics from 1974/1975 aswell as the 2 annuals and 2 movies soundtrack cd's aswell as a rare soundtrack cd of the tv series.

As you can tell,I'm a big fan.
